Hope for the Future Criteria

Hope for the Future provides need-based tuition assistance for Catholic and non-Catholic students who meet eligibility requirements and enroll in one of the Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of San Antonio.

Hope for the Future recognizes that poverty has no boundaries and will work with families seeking assistance. The money is paid directly to the school on behalf of the student, half of the award each semester.

Hope for the Future raises tuition assistance monies for students attending elementary and secondary Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of San Antonio. Hope for the Future’s tuition assistance selection committee will review and process the applications for approval. Once a family is approved, the family will be notified by the selection committee and mailed a tuition assistance voucher to present to the school of their choice at the time of registration.

What grade levels are eligible?
Students in grades K – 12 (K-3 and K-4 are not eligible).

What schools are eligible?
All forty-four Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of San Antonio.

Who can apply for Hope for the Future?
All families who want to send their children to Catholic a school.

Do I have to be Catholic to apply?
No.

What is the dollar amount that a student may receive from Hope for the Future?
Elementary education: from $500 to $1000 per student, based on financial need analysis.

Secondary education: from $500 to $2000 per student, based on financial need analysis.

If I receive funding or do not receive funding, will I have to re-apply again next year?
YES.    Applications will be filed annually.

Will Hope for the Future be given for one year or for multiple years?
For ONE year.

How much is the Hope for the Future application fee?
$25.00.

How will I know if I am selected as a recipient for Hope for the Future tuition assistance?
A notification will be sent to you by US mail in May or June.

Application

Deadline for application for the 2010-2011 school year is May 3, 2010.
Applications will only be accepted online. Mailed applications will not be accepted.
